METHODS OF RECEIVING THE HOLY SPIRIT

DO IT ON YOUR OWN

The simplest method of receiving the baptism with the Holy Spirit is to just receive the Spirit, by faith.  Know what the bible says and act on it.  Look at the scriptures; study them.  Settle the issue in your belief system; and then ask Jesus to fill you with the Spirit.  Open your mouth, and by faith, begin to speak with tongues.

HAVE A BELIEVING FRIEND LAY HANDS ON YOU

Have a fellow believer lay hands on you.  It can be in a private meeting or a public meeting where the atmosphere encourages you to receive.  You still need to know what the word says in order to establish belief and confidence.  This method provides you with a little assistance.

ATTEND A PUBLIC GATHERING OF BELIEVERS

When you are in a public gathering of believers who are filled with the Spirit, the atmosphere of worship will help you receive from the Lord.  However, as we grow in the Lord, we shouldn't need this assistance in the same way.  As we develop spiritually, our concern becomes focused on others receiving the Holy Spirit and how we can contribute to the atmosphere of faith. 

GET PERSONAL INSTRUCTIONS TO TROUBLESHOOT YOUR ROADBLOCKS

If you continue to struggle, find a believer who is especially gifted in this area and allow them to personally instruct you.  Walk through the scriptures with them and be open to uncover any roadblocks.  Remember that the trouble is always on our end of the line, not Gods.
